Freedom Kayak Hire

We make it easy for you to customise your own kayak adventure by making our extensive range of sea kayaks and sit-on-tops available for hire. We call this service our Freedom Kayak Hire as it allows you the freedom to explore the Noosa River at your pace, either for 2 hours or up to 1 week.

Explore the beautiful Noosa River at your own pace and in your own time. There are so many out of the way places that you can enjoy all to yourself or with friends. We give you a full safety and orientation introduction and let you in on the local secrets on where to go and what you can expect to see. All our sit-on-tops and sea kayaks are new and in excellent condition. Ask us about our extensive range of Fishing Kayaks also available for hire.

A Valid credit card (if not a $500.00 cash bond that is refunded on return of the kayak in pre-hired state) and Drivers License are required on application.

Freedom Kayak Hire participants are able to explore the entire Noosa River. Hirers are not permitted to cross the Noosa River Bar at anytime. It is very important that all hirers adhere to this rule as the Noosa River Bar can be a very dangerous location at the wrong tide and time. Access to the ocean is only available on Guided tours. Terms and Conditions of Hire

Please read through the hire agreement and scroll down to the booking form.

All Kayak Users:  You are responsible for the equipment hired and agree to the below terms and conditions of hire.
terms and conditions:

1. The hirer / user has an obligation to use the kayak or kayaks and associated equipment in a safe and responsible manner, having regard for their passengers, other vessel users and swimmers.

2. The hirer is responsible for familiarising themselves with the relevant regions tides, currents, marine hazards, weather patterns, safety issues and permit requirements for protected areas.

3. The hirer agrees to return the kayaks by the allocated return time or an additional late fee may be enforced.

4. All hires must be returned by 5:00 pm or a 50$ per hour (or part there of ) late fee will apply.

5. The hirer accepts full responsibility for returning all kayaks and equipment hired under this agreement in the original pre hired state.

6. The hirer is responsible for replacement costs of any loss, damage to kayaks or equipment or repair work required to return any items to the original pre hired state.

7. Noosa River hire is limited to flat water only.  You are not permitted to go through or enter the river section between the south and north head of the Noosa River mouth to access the ocean.

8. The Hirer/User agrees to wear a personal flotation device during the hire period.

9. The hirer agrees to leave one of the following:

a  Valid Credit Card Details and a valid Credit Card and Drivers License or

b  Cash Bond Equal to $500.00 and a Valid Drivers License
in the care of Kayak Noosa Staff as security over the hired kayaks and equipment until returned, inspected and confirmed that kayaks and equipment are in the original pre hired state.
